Frequently Asked Questions

Daycare

  • What Is Dog Daycare?

Dog daycare is a service that provides a safe and supervised environment for dogs to socialize, play, and engage in activities while their owners are at work or busy. It's a great way to ensure your dog gets exercise, mental stimulation, and companionship.

  • Why Should I Consider Dog Daycare For My Pet?

Dog daycare offers numerous benefits, including preventing loneliness, alleviating boredom, promoting social skills, and providing regular exercise. It's particularly helpful for dogs with high energy levels or separation anxiety.

  • Is My Dog A Suitable Candidate For Daycare?

We do believe that every dog can enjoy daycare. Of course, whether they can join play groups in the play lounge depends on their temperament and behavior. An initial assessment is usually done to ensure your dog is comfortable in group settings and gets along well with others. If your dog isn’t comfortable in group settings, our fun and attentive staff members can offer one on one play times with your dog - go on walks around Brands park, play fetch, get some physical exercise with our agility course or mental stimulation with some of our enrichment activities.

  • What Will My Dog Do During Daycare?

Dogs in daycare enjoy either one on one playtimes with our staff members or supervised playtimes with other dogs throughout the day. Rest periods are also provided to prevent overstimulation.

  • How Do You Ensure Safety And Supervision?

Our trained staff closely monitor all interactions to ensure a safe and controlled environment. We also separate them for nap time between long playtimes to encourage a happy and well rested dog that’ll promote good socialization and play behavior.

  • Are Vaccinations Required?

Yes, all dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations to participate in daycare. This helps maintain the health and well-being of all pets. The required vaccinations are rabies, Bordetella, Distemper and Canine Influenza.

  • What Should I Bring For My Dog?

Bring your dog's food, any necessary medications, and a comfortable leash. Personal items that provide familiarity, like a blanket or toy, can also be brought. Clean bowls will be provided. If your dog is allergic to a certain ingredient, please let us know and bring treats that they can have.

  • Can I Check In On My Dog During The Day?

You can absolutely call us anytime to check in on your dog. We’ll also send photos and updates as often as we can when we have down time (when we are not have too much fun playing with and supervising your dog!).

  • How Can Daycare Help With Behavior Issues?

Socialization and supervised playtime in daycare can improve a dog's behavior by reducing anxiety, preventing destructive behaviors due to boredom, and teaching them to interact positively with other dogs. Our expert trainer will also be there most of the time to monitor behavior, give you tips and with your permission, may correct any unwanted behavior.
